To Putin’s ambitions, but at least we got a puncher’s chance of getting funding approved over the next week or so. Still seems complex - first, repubs kill best border deal in 4 decades which they claimed they needed to help Ukraine stay free. Until Trump commanded them to kill it, so they passed all the aid Biden requested without it. After obstructing for 6 mths, Johnson took the same bill the senate passed and broke it apart for separate votes, but it’s all supposed to be stitched together and voted on by the senate jointly once the house finishes dithering as long as they can.

Unnecessary delays to play politics, and for some, probably to give Putin every last possible advantage. I don’t think I’d call Johnson a profile in courage for this - he could have put the senate bill on the floor months ago. But I agree with preventing his ouster, just to make sure incentives don’t continue to point towards division and obstruction.
