In the race (with any chance of being anything but a spoiler) who never called for an end to the constitution, spent the last 4 years refusing to accept the results of a lawfully certified election he lost, or pulls out all the stops to gift wrap Ukraine to a tyrant looking to recreate a Cold War empire. Sununu said we have to prevent that guy from being a candidate at all costs. I’m not sure that means anti-Trumpies would all have voted for him. It means they’d have been happy to see Trump out of the contest and repubs stepping back from their cultish support of a guy over our founding documents.

When those repubs fail to keep Trump off their party’s ballot, and pledge their support to him anyway, because they have to vote for the home team in spite of the dangers they claim he presents, they lose credibility in all the objections they ever expressed.

They can hold their noses and vote for Biden, and turn their party back into something a majority of the country might be able to support again. For the right candidate. They won’t have to worry about that oppty not being there in 4 years.
