IMO no chance she's the pick
If I were a betting man, I'd put my money on Kristi Noem, Tim Scott and Tulsi Gabbard in that order -- with Haley as the dark horse. About 6 months ago, I might've put Stefanik up there, but I think her star has faded a bit. It's a shame because as somebody with pretty strong distaste for Kamala Harris, I think Stefanik would - by far - have the best debate vs Kamala. Kamala is not smart, but she's not dumb, either. I think Tim Scott is a little too casual/gentile/Southern to really take it to her. Stefanik is smarter than Harris AND just as aggressive.
Haley obviously did not endorse Trump, and as a guy that considers loyalty to him somebody's #1 positive attribute, that works pretty heavily against her. But I think Trump has also shown that he understands the need to rally the entire GOP tent to win. In 2016, he needed help with evangelicals, so he picked Mike Pence. Now that evangelicals have decided to ignore him being the least Godly candidate ever, he no longer needs a Mike Pence type. He does, however need to shore up the suburban, typically-GOP voter base that might be willing to hold their nose and vote for him. Vivek, MTG, JD Vance, etc can't do that. If anything, they make him less appealing to those voters.
