She’s in her late 50s early 60s still paying down her student loans from grad school (Michigan law). She’s eligible for it because she’s been in public service for 20 years. But as an adjunct professor, her benefits are virtually non-existent. I know this is coming as a relief to her since she’s caring for her mom who has dementia and will likely be going to an expensive care facility shortly. Not all law careers make a ton of money, and the debt from graduating can be huge.
