Not given the numbers - it’s not as though there are regions, or population
Segments of any kind, whose negative impressions of Biden can be correlated to greater prevalence of bad economic outcomes. The bad news for Biden is the negatives are pretty well distributed. Obviously much more prevalent among repubs, but that doesn’t explain the entire disconnect.
Again, the repeated refrain in polls is “I’m doing fine, but the economy as a whole sucks”. Even though, it really doesn’t. One example the wsj link cites: responses that inflation is moving in the wrong direction. In spite of the fact that inflation has gone from 9% to 3%. Really, they’re saying “I’m still paying more than I used to.” But inflation moving in the right direction does not mean prices come down. It means inflation comes down, which it did.
It doesn’t matter from Biden’s standpoint. It would almost be easier to combat if some rational correlation like you suggest could be identified. That’s just not the case, which I think makes this hard for him to reverse.
