Maybe. If the nyc marathon organizers

move the marathon from NYC, then that will be the case.

Frankly I’m surprised the marathon didn’t already have the pay to have a toll bridge shut down for several hours. I believe events such as concerts and sporting events reimburse police departments for the officers providing traffic control. Doesn’t seem like a big deal at all to me.

And I don’t think the transit authority will care if they use another bridge. That’s sort of the point of asking for the compensation for lost revenue while the bridge is closed. There won’t be lost revenue if they find another route.
