Both things can be problems. A transgender swimmer won an NCAA title
You don't think the 2nd place finisher, a Hoo fwiw, who worked her entire life at her sport only to lose out to a former middling male swimmer who only became dominant when competing against women, thinks it's a big deal? I mean, I guess you account for that with the "but for their participation"... but that whole situation is just flat out wrong. I'd bet the 2nd place swimmer, her family and a bunch of other female swimmers care.
I'm a supporter of treating transgenders with respect and have no problem with a transgender awareness day and I think the "outrage" over the fact that it will coincide with easter ever 65 years or so is beyond ridiculous, but biological men should not be competing against women at the highest levels. Is molesting children worse? Of course. But that doesn't mean we should accept biological men competing against women.
