I think there is no stigma at all attached to being Christian, except the
Political pushback they get from their desire to infuse our politics and public life with Christianity. Which some choose to view as “persecution”. But beyond that I’m completely unaware of any widespread stigmas, like protests outside churches on Sundays or holidays, or any movements to limit participation of Christians in any aspect of our society. But yeah, you do have snowflakey folks who view disagreements about things like prayer in school events as attacks on Christianity.
Otoh, trans politics are the shitstorm at ground zero of our culture upheavals. Political movements across the country to both eliminate and defend trans participation in competitive sports leagues, trans procedures for minors and adults in some instances, whether trans people can be in the military, how trans issues are taught in schools, etc.
We’re in a cultural moment where transgender issues have organized defenders for pretty much the first time ever. Different countries testing different policies. Some questioning policies they’ve implemented recently. I do wonder if today’s kids in some instances aren’t being encouraged to consider their gender identities at times in their lives when they could be encouraged to consider anything causing their teen angst. Which is how pendulums tend to swing in human societies.
The only issues involving Christianity in schools are about things like whether creationism can be taught alongside evolution in science curriculums. Many of us do push back against that, as we thought that issue was resolved long before we were in school. I didn’t learn creationism in public school science classes, but got all I wanted in Hebrew school (and then some). I don’t think anybody is prevented from sending their kids to Sunday school or to Christian schools if they want to go that way. Not aware of books about Christianity being banned from school libraries. Books about transgender issues - different story.
If I were a betting man, I’d bet there will be less of both in 62 yrs, although who knows how social pendulums will continue to swing. I think trans issues will be less novel over time, and hopefully, rationality will continue to make gains against ancient superstitions and fairy tales.
