2) The minimum wage is irrelevant. In 2022, roughly 1 million out of 160 million workers made the minimum wage. That's 0.6%. Of those roughly half are under the age of 25. So 99.7% of workers 25 and older make more than the minimum wage. Also, half of minimum wage workers are part time. So again. 99.7% of full time workers make more than the minimum wage. They don't break out part time AND age, but I'd be wiling to bet it's not a 100% overlap (although probably a heavy overlap), so I'd bet ultimately that 99.8 or 99.9% of full time workers 25 and older make more than the minimum wage. So if fast food employers just want cheap labor so they can sell inexpensive food and still make a profit, why are more people not paid the minimum wage?
