Sleepy needs to get more people back to the office
For the first time in years, I'm spending a lot of time in the city these days - still not enough people around, not enough activity contributing the the economic wellbeing of the city. Making it lively (downtown anyhow, more residential neighborhoods are different). These things (people + activity and crime) work in tandem.
This bill has been in the works for a while. Actually reverses a decent bit of stupid policy from a few years ago (mostly around actually enforcing the laws and incarcerating criminals). DC has also done a decent job recently cleaning up some of the tent cities (constructively). At one point, the park in front of Union Station was a homeless campground. That's how we were welcoming people to the Nation's Capital.
As bad as things may be (and they're not *that* bad, though Fox News will have you believe otherwise; last time I checked upper Northwest was still quite expensive), I'm not going to support MAGA candidates.
