March 1941, Congress approves Lend Lease
Passed on party lines in the House: Democrats voted 238 to 25 in favor and Republicans 24 in favor and 135 against.
On FDR's death, Churchill spoke in Parliament, calling Lend Lease “the most unselfish and unsordid financial act of any country in all history.”
