…when it is violated, then, as the Constitution dictates, they still get to set the manner in which the electors will be appointed, which must be and will be by vote of that legislature.

You’re claiming that, well, sure, the legislature can pass whatever law it wants to govern the conduct of appointing electors, but the executive and/or judicial branches can just ignore it and there’s nothing that the legislature can do to reassert its Constitutional power. That’s false. The legislature will reassert it by appointing the electors themselves when the way they previously prescribed (pop vote) is violated.
