Consumers working from home, had money and not much else to do so they bought up whatever it was available. This all resulted in severe worldwide shortages felt everywhere which drove prices up throughout 2022, as well as 2021. Russia invasion of Ukraine direct impacts and embargo as a result also created shortages and drove oil prices up, affecting many products
