I basically agree with the principles behind Simpson Bowles, or if you want
a more current version, I couldn't agree more with the simplified shell of what Boca suggests below. There is zero doubt spending is by far the biggest part of the problem, but even drastically cutting that alone won't do it. Increasing revenue via higher taxes, and via growth exceeding new spending increases has to be part too.
I'm not one of those dishonest hacks that thinks we can simply make the "rich" pay their "fair share" while we continue on with our completely reckless spending ways.
