I’ve listened to/read a fair amout of Rufo. I vehemently disagree with his
prescriptions on how to address the problems he identifies. I think he is sometimes correct, sometimes incorrect in the problems he identifies - but majority of the solutions he proposes seem both wrong headed and ultimately, counterproductive to the goals he claim to espouse.
However, I don’t hear or see racism as an overriding driver for his ideas. Could it be underlying all he does, sure, but it isn’t overt IMO. I would much prefer to address his ideas, rather than chalk him up as racist and not argue against the ideas on their own merit.
It is way too easy (and too common IMO) to ascribe bad motivations to those we disagree with. I personally hope make every attempt to assume good motivations and look at the substance rather than assume they are starting with evil intent.
