Wasn’t as good as some of the 2nd stringers around the league? I fully disagree with that. His stats were respectable, and former starters with experience under fire are the best veteran backups. Kaep turned out not to be Mahomes, but I think he was better than at least the bottom third of nfl starters.
Which isn’t good enough for teams to want all the baggage when he became a top antiwoke target. That’s absolutely why he couldn’t even get a tryout. I don’t call that “wokeness” - I call it business. Kaep has his first amendment rights - as do his prospective employers to decide politics isn’t where they want the focus of the public.
