Normally I’d take the points at the half, but given Campbell’s propensity
To go for it on 4th, it makes no sense to me that he didn’t. At that point, there was no downside. Chance to go up by 3 tds, or fail and still be up 2 with 30 min to play. Especially when he didn’t take the points down 27-24 in the 4th. He had that backwards - the time to gamble was at the end of the half. Also, at the end of the 4th, he should have kicked the FG and then maybe onside kick - or even take a chance kicking deep with your 3 TOs left.
The niners were having more success against the run in the 2H, so I agree with you a bit less on that point. Even with Campbell gambling on 4th, which was sticking to what got him there, he probably wins if that face mask ball bounced differently, or if their receiver hadn’t dropped one ball hitting his hands as he dove and another which hit him perfectly in stride and bounced off his belly.
