I'm not sure this constitutes great policy. What's wrong with asking some people to wait in Mexico (is Mexico doing anything to address the crisis, or just allowing people to pass through and hope they don't stop off?). I'm sure it is taking so long because we don't have the resources to process, I get that. But it all looks very bad to the average viewer.

And on what grounds to we grant asylum?

It needs an overhaul and the guy in charge (and his team) need to go on the offensive from a PR perspective. They're being blamed for the entire shitshow - some of it may be their doing, but some of it is clearly not. They are operating from a position of weakness when addressing the court of public opinion. The issue is a winner for the GOP, why theDonald wants so badly to "save" it for himself (such a fucking asshole).
