to the current crisis is ending the “remain in Mexico” policy. One argument against keeping that policy in place is that it would create a humanitarian crisis at the border. I know humanitarian crises don’t mean anything to you being the good Christian that you are, but another argument is that a humanitarian crisis at the border would take MASSIVE resources to secure and actually make the problem worse in that we would have more people getting into our country illegally with zero processing, documentation, or verification of who they are.

I don’t know what the exact right answer is, but it’s definitely not “let’s just close the border” because physically closing the border is impossible.

Would be good if Congress was more concerned with solving the issue than with keeping a political weapon to score points with. Party over country.
