I don't think so, though our federalist system probably needs some overhaul
The House needs to be bigger, much bigger (600-900 members). We need to add some states like PR and DC, or maybe even redraw a few. Antiquated processes like the Senate filibuster need to reformed. Some constitutional changes could be made if people are willing to bargain in good faith.
Let's face it. The system is creaky, but there are options to fix it, if people care enough to do it. Just quitting, allowing it to split, is lazy and cowardly way out.
