surprised at how broad 1A protections are for "political speech". Then again, I never thought we'd be dealing with a candidate / official class that just makes shit up with no regard for the damage they may be doing to individuals or to institutions.

That we, as a people, tolerate it is on us. One only needs to scroll through this board to see just how much people will rationalize from their tribes. Zero accountability and antithetical to American ideals.

Hopefully the plaintiffs will win a few of these suits, and hopefully we'll find ways to bring some of these other liars to justice in different ways. I just wish "Americans" would stop supporting them - that would be a great start.
