Because it is performative. I think these people would do well to observe


the sage advice of Matthew 5-6.

"And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. Truly I tell you, they already have their full reward. But when you pray, go into your inner room, shut your door, and pray to your Father, who is unseen. And your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you."

If you're going to be religious, practice your religion! You're not convincing me. And in the case of Penix, like Russell Wilson, get your team a championship son! That's all I care about as a sports fan. (Wilson was interesting; God loved him one year and made him pay the next. LOL!)
