He doesn't know much about anything. If he believes there is an issue
with the California map, he should blame the Republicans on the bipartisan commission. The reality is that the current map looks a lot like the old one - the commission didn't change very much. But the commission has 14 people, 5 Dems, 5 GOPers and 4 affiliated with neither party.
That said, has the Dems taken the North Carolina or Florida approach, they probably could have pushed the GOP out of a few more seats. Not that I think that's the right answer.
I'd like to see national standards for creating districts and a robust process to challenge if / when there are issues to address. I get it, states rights and all. But these people are passing laws for the rest of us. Do the state houses however they want, I really don't give a shit. But I believe gerrymandering is a scourge on this country, it is really holding us back in a number of ways. I'd love to just end the practice, as would 85% of our countrymen and women I'm guessing.
