Candidly, I think Biden is an old-school, pro-Israel politician running for
re-election who sees criticism of Israel (fair or not) as a political albatross. He also made it “both sides” given that Islamophobia has been arguably worse and has resulted in people actually being assaulted and harmed.
Again though, as a neutral observer I struggle to see how college students demonstrating for Palestinian rights and criticizing Israeli military action is any more “Anti-semitic” than college students demonstrating against the invasion of Ukraine is anti-Slavic.
When people start parroting slogans like “from the River to the Sea” without understanding what those words mean, they do deserve to be corrected. But i have seen ZERO evidence of college students actually supporting genocide of Jews or expulsion from Israel.
Maybe there are some insane idiots out there who believe that, but no one else is on their side….certainly not the governing boards of Ivy League schools. Heck, isn’t the president of MIT Jewish?
Also would note I read that Post article….much of the grievances were about anonymous message board posters saying horrible things. Just imagine if someone read all of Tom Kanzanski’s or Lupos’s posts and attributed them to the UVa student body…..
