On another lefty message board where I hang out, somebody did cop to paying

$79 for a turkey, but it was at an urban Whole Foods and it was free range, organic, fresh/never frozen, Halal, the whole ball of wax.

I tried to think of the most expensive turkey I could imagine, and googled "Joel Salatin Polyface Turkey cost." I came up with the link below. At $5.49/lb, you would pay $87.84 for a 16 pounder via Rebecca's Natural Foods. So I guess it's possible, although not on-brand for a Fox News man-of-the-people type. Even then, probably available cheaper direct from the farm.

EDIT to add: I see Rebecca's has closed. C-ville townies were probably already aware of that, but I wasn't. Guess ~$90 turkeys ain't actually, um, sustainable...
