Christie is probably the best because he’s very directly answering Trumpie bullshit about election fraud and coup attempts. He says the exact right thing on pardons, for instance. He’d make that determination if and when Trump is convicted in federal court based on the facts of the case. The rest of them just promise to keep a cult leader above the law.

The best repub I saw based on his actual comments was Will Hurd. Imo. But of course he just doesn’t qualify as a repub these days. So, until the way candidates are selected changes, where extreme bases have less nominating power, I’m having trouble seeing a “good” repub candidate. I mean, maybe Larry Hogan could be as well, but he has less chance in this party than Burgum.

Dems are going to be stuck with the flawed incumbent too, because of the lessons of history about primary challenges. So we also won’t see the “best” they have to offer. But they won’t give us a candidate who either pushes complete bullshit about elections, or enables those who do. Which makes the lesser evil a no brainer for democracy fans.
