Their overwhelming favorite for president is the ultimate faux victim. He’s a career criminal and fraudster but it’s him that’s treated “so unfairly.” He’s contributed nothing to the betterment of this country but they support him because the one thing he does well is channel their victimhood, resentment, and grievances against our increasingly pluralistic and liberal society.

They’re “victimized” by experts telling them they should wear face masks and get vaccines.

They’re “victimized” by illegal immigrants stealing American jobs (they don’t) and not speaking English.

They’re “victimized” by transgender people unlikely to ever have any effect on their lives whatsoever and who are much more likely to be harmed than to do harm.

They’re “victimized” by school library books that dare to reflect the full spectrum of human nature.

They’re “victimized” by school history lessons that tell the truth.

They’re “victimized” by nonexistent election fraud and legitimate election losses.

They’re “victimized” by the FBI and the IRS.

They’re “victimized” by having statues of Civil War slavery supporters and traitors torn down.

They’re “victimized” by calls for sensible gun laws.

They’re “victimized” by government regulations that protect the environment.

They’re even “victimized” by acknowledgment of human-caused climate change and transition from the fossil fuels that are causing it to renewable energy sources, for God only knows what reason.

Sorry. You’re not wrong about there being issues with families in Black communities but you’ve got the whole victimhood thing exactly backwards.
