They supported them when Israel was in Lebanon

and only for that one point - once Israel withdrew so did their support largely. There are always going to be some that "support" them but those are going to be Christians from the south and Bekka valley and they are more Shiite supporters than Hezzy ones.

The majority are against what they are doing in the south currently. They are also oppossed to them because they are a proxy of and for Iran and not a Proxy for Lebanon.

I will say one thing though positive about them - at times they are more open to Christians in Lebanon than the Sunni are. For example, if you go to Saida that is Sunni, they have banned alcohol sales but if you go to Sour, they allow alcohol sales. Hezzy is also (at least publically) more open to lebanon with bars/nightlife etc than many religous sunni are in lebanon. I dont know its because they were always mistreated by sunni muslims so they understand what it means to be at the bottom of the totem pols....
