No I am saying that Hamas' rise was specific


to certain social and political conditions. If the roles were reversed and say Palestinians won the early "wars" and the roles were reversed, Hamas wouldnt have risen to power (at least not as its currently constructed) and maybe would have stayed more on the sidelines. Hamas has evolved over time....

1. 60s to early 80s was not active in resistance movement focusing religous reform.
2. Early 80s began to take a more active role in politics. This is the era where Israel thought they could counter the PLO/Fattah and weaken it and also the era where they would kill any collaborators.
3. Late 80s (87/88) is where the modern Hamas was born and their split from the brotherhood.
