With a recent mental health commitment. A Very dangerous person
People who lose their grip on social norms due to a mental health crisis don’t lose their knowledge, training and abilities that they acquired from being in the military or being a firearms instructor. I have yet to see a mental health system either civilian or through the VA that can adequately deal with these folks. Add in the easy availability of firearms to people whether they are supposed to have them or not, and you have another #———-strong. The answer isn’t it’s either a mental health issue, or it’s a proliferation of firearms issues. In my opinion. It’s both and much more. There are so many holes in both the involuntary and voluntary mental health systems and our gun culture that we really can’t make any meaningful progress with gun deaths till we fix that.
