This is a good point. Trump is least likely to win over non-Republicans
And in order to win, you have to convince moderates/independents. Biden may not be great, but he beats Trump among independents. So if that continues to be the case, the GOP’s only chance with Trump is to increase GOP turnout or decrease Dem turnout. Not impossible, but a much harder task with Trump as the nominee. Dems should not have a low turnout trying to defeat Trump on a ballot (versus say a Youngkin/MacCauliff race where Trump isn’t on the ballot).
