Again: I said

from the beginning that I regard the indictments as "warranted and necessary."

I never said "Let him go and never mind." I believe he should be tried, and if proven guilty, convicted. I said: Do not put this person behind bars in a public display. There are options in regard to ONE man.

There's an appreciable difference in human cost between:

Avoiding the TRUMP incarceration (again, ONE man) and simultaneously avoiding perpetuating the aggravation of a large, volatile, --and armed-- section of the populace)

and

a President calling up additional troops and squelching an armed rebellion.

That's just a bit of a high cost for a principle Trump supporters won't grasp anyway.
