When I first came across this board

I thought it was impressive. Although anonymous and at least, semi-obscure, it appeared to be a forum for interchange by bright, accomplished and educated people with considered and genuinely held opinions.

Sadly, and ironically, it has devolved into an arena of ad hominem reply to argument that would cost points in a high school debate.

My current "discomfort" here is a result of an exchange with a poster I agree with at least 95% of the time. And I have no issue with being questioned over my intent or implication. If, after clarification, we still disagree, I am happy to argue merit.

And, hey, I have no issue acknowledging I am not as bright as most (but more than a few) of the posters here. Certainly, I am not as accomplished and inclined academically as the majority here. But, geez, I hated school from the first day of first grade until the last day at VPI. I only went because when I was 11 my mom told me that if I did *someday* I might be able to get a job where I could afford a color TV. And, although the first season of Gilligan's Island in b&w were works of high art, the final two in color were mesmerizing. You know, what with MaryAnn and all. And that other girl that was on there too.

Anyway, in regard to the current discussion of "promoting violence": While I don't doubt anyone's sincerity in their assurance that the "line will hold" that position is borne from confidence in the system, a common sense of country, the constitution, rule of law, and all those other important documents that George Jefferson wrote. As well as, also, recent results of smaller scale events.

I'm certain it is fascinating fodder for elite university, erudite discussion.

But, in the end, it is the equivalent of putting "H. Couture Beauty Diamond" on a pig (I am sure most of you already know H Couture is the most expensive lipstick in the world @$14 million a stick).

The academic perspective being the lipstick, the "pig" is the rest of us. The great unwashed.

--The 60% of Americans that live paycheck to paycheck.
--The 27% of Capitol Rioters that were veterans (opposed to 7% of the USA
population)
--The overwhelming % of owners of the 407,995,875 privately held firearms
in the USA
--The 55,000 people who showed up at a Trump Rally in a 3,400 pop town
a few weeks ago (and by the 120 guns for every 100 people ratio) that
ciphers out as 66,000 privately owned guns. South Carolina? I bet a lot
more
--The watchers of the 100,000,000 downloads of Trump's interview with
Tucker Carlson last night

These people are going to "hold the line?

They don't want to compromise. They don't want to read and implement proud and ancient documents. You're stealing their country. You're killing babies. You're attacking their faith in Christ. You're making their sons wear dresses. Did you see all the American flags on Jan 6? All the 1776 signage? Did any of them appear to NOT regard themselves as patriots? Were they ashamed or reluctant to be identified? When was the last time anyone on this board drove 2,000 miles to participate in a riot?

They want to dominate you. Limit you. They want the goddamned trains to run on time! And, if necessary, they want to injure, or, kill you.

And they're going to be the "protectors?" Submitting to indictment in DC or NY is not the same as doing it in Georgia (I lived in both NYC and Georgia and they're, at the least, "not alike"). I don't think anything will happen tomorrow. Even with a mug shot.

ALL I EVER SAID was that, if you PUT HIM IN JAIL, and that image is public, the gloves are off. So, convict him of Treason and revoke his citizenship. Put him on the Last Train to Clarksville. Take a hammer and a 10 penny nail, catch him alone in the toilet and give him a frontal lobotomy.

Don't lock him up.

(Well, there I go again: promoting violence..).

CAVEAT: This Post may contain sarcasm!
