Pence under any circumstances, and I think he did help enable Trumpism and its assault on the Constitution, but those were all sunk costs by the time we got to Jan ‘21. It took courage and backbone during those days to prevent a constitutional crisis, which I believe he could have triggered if he were only concerned about his own political skin (like many other repubs). It took actual physical courage on 1/6 itself.
