Reactions of the crowd for Trump criticism. Hutchinson criticized the lawlessness of Trumpism just before they switched to talking about the indictments, and he even seemed to be knocked off balance a little when the boos didn’t reign down. He even got some tepid applause. Christie got something close to an ovation when he said the support for Pence’s rejection of the Trump Hail Mary on 1/6 should not be tepid at all, as DeSantis’ was.

Generally, when talking about Trump, there were times when applause and boos seemed in competition. Other times, like when Ramaswamy essentially declared Trump above the law by promising a pardon before trials even begin, the pro-trump forces in the crowd seemed to have it - he got wild cheers. When Christie started speaking of the shame Trump brought on the presidency, the boo birds completely dominated.

Still, it wasn’t the complete and total wall of Trump support I expected from that crowd. There may yet be some chinks in Trump’s armor.
