The judge’s objection was that the deal made her responsible for
monitoring whether Hunter was complying with the terms of the deal instead of DOJ doing that. That’s apparently unusual and she didn’t want to do that so she sent them back to the negotiating table. Also, there was a miscommunication between DOJ and Hunter about future immunity that became apparent at the hearing, and failure to resolve that is likely why the plea deal has now collapsed. The judge did not “sniff out corruption.” You’ve been lied to.
