Looks like they are drawing the battle lines on compelled speech.

I'm glad the ruling is light on religious aspects. (I always question why the law should respect a belief more once somebody attaches the word 'religious' to it.)

I digress - the decision discusses the government's inability to compel speech (like Pledge of Allegiance in classrooms). A pretty good argument, IMO. What transactions constitute speech is a very interesting question.

Final thought: Is a 'too late' clause appropriate? Say I'm ready to bring the cake to a wedding, but then I find out it's a Hokie wedding. I don't think Hokies should get married. Can I just say 'Nope, I'm returning your check and donating the cake to a homeless shelter.'
