Be able to conduct biz as they choose, serve who they want, because it’s a free country. That’s an argument for sure. But where do we draw the line? Will it be ok to prohibit black patrons from sitting at the lunch counter again?

Decades ago we determined that the good of the community outweighed the rights of individual businesses to turn folks away just because of some cultural identity. Race was the key because gay discrimination wasn’t even considered discrimination - probably even to most of the activists protesting racist restrictions at the time. But now society generally recognizes gay folks as a protected class (or whatever the correct legalese should be). Our society should be tolerant of them, like anyone else.

So I agree - how much of this community interest is now on the chopping block?
