Yeah. I have a neice who was in a fairly long term lesbian
relationship--later undergrad to grad school years. She's about to get her ph.d and seems pretty happy with a boyfriend these days. I would suppose she genuinely bi, but she's self possessed and successful, and it's her business.
I have been pretty close to two trans people in my life. One is a she now who grew up on a Montana ranch branding cattle. She was my first real trans acquaintance. I still remember the first time (then he) show up at my ND farmer's market stand (my late evangelical period). Freaked me out, to be honest.
Then we actually became very close friends---albeit more so with her female spouse, who would later perform my own marriage ceremony.
I didn't see any regrets re transitioning. I have a transitioned niece since. It's just different when you see people as family and friends that are more than labels. And i'd certainly trust either of them with my kids a lot more than I would the creeps here who have "trans News" on their Twitter feeds all the time! There's something wrong in their heads to obsess constantly about other people's bees wax all the time.
