I like the pay...and then get reimbursed
...even the poor.
Lot of 'no shows" when everything is paid for you. Meaning generalists and specialists have booked time, time taht could be spent for pateints who need the care......and patient cancels at last minute..or doesn't show up at all.
IMO, you should pay full for that, with absolutely no reimbursement. NO WAIVER, you pay out of pocket, and if you show up on time
I'm not sure a government run anything that big is a good idea. Somehow they should bid it out and ensure there are quality of service metrics and bonuses for exceeding them. I'm not sure what those metrics are.....but time and time again, government has shown they cant even do the most basic things even close to efficiently. Oh...like tracking flipping top secret documents. I mean..how difficult can that be...and the list goes on.
Not that we'll ever get there....but our government is already too big, we need to find a way to shrink their mission, so they can actually become really good at something.
