I'm not Slavic. But I'll comment. We've sent them $54B. A drop in the
proverbial bucket compared to the $2.2T we spent in Afghanistan or even the $787B we spent in Iraq. This aside from the fact that there is no commitment of American, or any other NATO, soldiers. To stop Putin's incursion into the Ukraine it is a bargain. It benefits Europe as a whole. It benefits the United States' security arrangements.
Our defense budget this year is $722B. A commitment of funds to defeat Putin is a good deal. What will it cost overall? I don't know; it depends on multiple factors, not the least of which is maintaining a united front against Russian aggression. $100B? $200B? I'm fine with that. More than fine, I approve of it whole-heartedly. We need to show resolve in the face of criminal Fascists like Putin and not offer succor to his enablers like Orban and Trump.
Anyway, it isn't a "blank check." Congress reviews and approves the allocation of funds. I'm cool with them exercising oversight. I'm not cool with McCarthy signaling Putin at a critical moment that the MAGAs coming into control of the House won't hesitate to help him out and stab the Ukraine in the back.
