an actual, real story that is truthful about the policy instead of a viral unattributed social media post that is almost certainly a fake story and lies about the policy.

I just get very frustrated at the willingness to believe viral social media stories that have no attribution or vetting.  There's plenty to criticize without having to use likely fake stories to make a point that doesn't even seem to be true.

The Washington Examiner article is very poorly worded, so while the lede sentence says veterans and spouses, the rest of the article says things like "veterans and their spouses who completed at least 48 months of military service" which would mean the spouse had to have 48 months of service, or says "veteran-teachers" which would exclude spouses.  It also references the requirements for veterans without a bachelor's degree which match the FL DOE web site policy that explicitly says spouses and families are not included in that option.  The statement that "the only thing she had to do to get this teaching certification is observe certified teachers and their classrooms for 12 hours" can't be true based on the policy that requires college credits with a minimum GPA and a subject exam by the state, etc.

The only actual policy wording I've found (going directly to the original source of the policy itself), says this story has to be fake.  If anyone can link an actual policy itself that allows spouses without a bachelor's degree to teach, I will stand corrected.
