The piece of the article on "Warrior Christ" is interesting, particularly
given that the belief the messiah would be a warrior was part of what got Jesus crucified in the first place. Before the birth of Christ, many in judaism believed that the messiah would be a war leader to lead the armies of Israel against the soldiers of Rome. When it was obvious that Jesus was not going to be a great military leader and did not advocate violence as a means of establishing the kingdom of God, it led many to reject him, and renounce him as an impostor, eventually ending with the trial of Christ and crucifixion.
