We couldn't afford what we knew to be the optimal interval (link)

between initial doses that leads to higher overall antibody levels, e.g., 8 weeks for the Pfizer vaccine. But antibody levels drop off very quickly after the first dose and we needed to get as many protected with as much protection as we could as quickly as we could, which meant 3 weeks. 6 months later the booster seriously elevates both antibody levels as well as durability, despite the jpmHoos of the world deriding it as "ineffective".

I'm 70+ and the happy recipient of 3 Pfizer doses.
