Someone leaked Trump's tax returns with the goal of publicizing them (why I don't know, as there was nothing wrong with them). That's a felony regardless of whatever hedge anyone wants to put around it. You can find an idiot to dispute anything obvious -- in fact, you do it daily on this very board -- but that doesn't change the underlying fact. If you continue to doubt the legality of it, however, please go try it yourself and see what happens.

That no one was charged for it in the case of Trump is irrelevant. First, how would anyone identify the leaker when the Times kept it confidential? Second, the most likely leaker was the government itself, as they had possession, but as we've already seen from the Russia hoax, the government isn't going to prosecute itself, especially in a case involving Trump.

This has gone on long enough. I made assertions and supported them with multiple facts from independent sources. I could have cited a hundred more. The original poster, Bonsack, couldn't even begin to counter a point. You get points for trying, but you've failed to counter a single point in any meaningful way and otherwise just set up strawman arguments that I never made in the first place.

If you want to go on believing that leaking someone's tax returns is a-okay, be my guest. If you want to go on backslapping the crooks in our government who committed some of the worst crimes ever in our country's history, go for it. I'm done explaining it.
