Yeah, I don't accept that. You're entitled to your view, but it is 100%
wrong and partisan in my view. I don't like Omar, if for no other reason than she is not politically astute enough to stop falling into these traps. However she should have walked back a statement that was taken out of context in the first place and said nothing close to what she is accused of saying, you are making demands of one side of the aisle that you refuse to make of the other. There are endless examples of Trump offenses that he should been asked to walk back, if we're so concerned about people's frayed feelings.
And if you won't hold the guy you like to that standard, you are pissing in the wind if you're expecting your opposite numbers to hold theirs to it. They won't, and all that happens is a collapse of the entire tone of our political conversation. Not to mention the dangers of buying into propaganda derived from 4 or 5 words out of a much longer quote.
For one final time, Omar simply never made the statement you are taking offense to, which is far more important than how indelicately she's handled the matter since. This sort of thing simply accelerates the two parties movement to their respective extremes.
