Actually, as it turns out, the outrage is due to a partial quote taken

completely out of context and then run through the Trumpie propaganda machine. Here's the entire quote, from about a month ago:

"Far too long we have lived with the discomfort of being a second-class citizen, and frankly, I'm tired of it, and every single Muslim in this country should be tired of it," Omar said at the event. "CAIR was founded after 9/11 because they recognized that some people did something and that all of us were starting to lose access to our civil liberties."

"..some people did something" was taken out of context, combined with inflammatory footage from that day, and made to appear as though she was trivializing a deadly attack costing 1000s of Americans their lives. Omar was not doing that. She was protesting what in her view were the broad generalizations about Muslims that followed 9/11 (with a factual inaccuracy - I believe the group she was addressing was founded in the 1990s, not after 9/11).

So this outrage you are feeling is about something that never happened. A quote that was not made. That was misrepresented, and that you and all Trumpies seem to buy without question. I personally am not a fan of Omar's. But there was no legitimate offense, because you're offended by a quote taken so completely out of context, as to render it a fabrication. A figment of Trumpie imaginations. She was protesting what in her view was anti-Muslim bigotry coming from all Muslims being blamed for the actions of a few. A Christian who felt all Christians were being held responsible for the shootings in New Zealand might say something similar.

So we don't even get to the essential point I was making yesterday - deep concern for the "legitimate offense taken by many to Omar's remarks", but no concern whatsoever for all the myriad offensive remarks made by Trump. My point yesterday was if you don't hold the president to that standard, then don't expect your political opponents to be held to it. Now I realize that statement was the wrong rebuttal. The right one was that you are objecting to a comment that was never made.

It's fake nooooz.
