How is that better than huge population centers being ignored?

New Hampshire, a state with ~15% the population of NYC, gets non stop attention. NYC gets none. How is that better for the people?

In both cases, the focus is on 7-10 areas. At least with a popular vote everyone would have incentive to vote. If you live in a solid red or blue state I wonder how many people just skip voting knowing it doesn't matter.
