If by "asshole" you meant resisting republican attempts
to torpedo his signature legislation, then he was an asshole. Good on him. I don't know where you get this absurd notion that The President owes some sort of compulsory deference to the house minority leader or Ryan's joke of a budget.
You also seem to be implying republicans are shining examples of bipartisanship? A laughable notion. You seem to view bipartisanship as the Rs trying to augment the presidents bill, and after being rebuffed cry, "look the president is an asshole, he won't let us torpedo his signature legislation." I can't accept your premise. The republicans won't even CALL A VOTE on Obamas SCOTUS nominee. No, they're not partisan. I'm sure you'd just argue Obama is getting what he deserves, ok. The Republican led Senate seems to think elections have consequences, shirking their duties again saying that The People should have a say. The Republicans didnt much care about The People or consequences of elections back then.
And what do republicans do when they don't get their way? Shut down the government and have story time in the middle of the senate. There's some leadership for you.
( turns out it was all a stunt for teddy to ingratiate himself with the hardcore Obama hater crowd.). The Republican Party has lost any semblance of self respect. One should only be willing to negotiate if the other side is willing to be mature.
Green eggs and ham. Read a children's book on the floor of the United States Senate. That is in the congressional record. I'm actually glad it is so future generations will be able to see what happened and judge for themselves.
