Fair enough, but if that's the standard, it's hard to understand the

ascendance of Tom Kazinski, Mr. Wahoo, and many others.

IMO, this board took a hard right turn when it reopened and TSL's politics board didn't, thus directing all the Hokies here. That happened around the same time that the +/ - system showed up, and now we're left with a few reasonable people and lots of hardcore conservatives voting on posts.

I agree that the rankings don't mean anything (in fact, the only downvotes I've ever given on the other boards are for people who complain about them), but they're particularly crazy on here, in my view.

BTW, thanks for the avatar shoutout. Any time my 3-year-old son sees the Sabre up on my phone, he says "Show me Old Cavman!" If he had a vote, he'd probably +1 me just for that!
